From the very beginning, Jefferson’s has taken a different approach to whiskey making. With a focus on innovation in the maturation process, our founder, Trey Zoeller, has applied the spirit of discovery and experimentation to his craft. That same spirit takes many forms, from many barrels, with each new expression of Jefferson’s Bourbon- 19 small batch expressions in all, each with its own unique story to tell.

A boat is a singularly uncommon place to age bourbon, but inspiration struck Trey on the deck of his friend Chris Fischer’s research ship. The caramelizing of the sugars in the barrel combined with the constant motion of the ship resulted in a dark bourbon with a briny, savory taste aged beyond its years.
