Monte Carlo Cocktail
A variant of the classic bourbon-based Manhattan, the Monte Carlo swaps out sweet vermouth for Bénédictine, introducing more herbal elements.
Crafting the Perfect Monte Carlo
Please only share with people over the legal drinking age.
The Monte Carlo is a balancing act of strength, sweetness, and aromatic complexity. Jefferson’s Reserve’s notes of caramel, toffee, and cinnamon provide a rich foundation that complements the herbal, spiced notes of Bénédictine. Angostura® bitters introduce another layer of depth, bringing out the bourbon’s subtly sweet flavor notes. The result is a cocktail that’s both bold and refined.
Stirring – rather than shaking – the ingredients ensures that the cocktail is chilled without diluting the rich flavors of the bourbon and Bénédictine. Garnishing with a lemon peel adds a final touch of brightness, releasing essential oils that complement the drink’s aromatic profile.
