Smoked Old Fashioned
The smoked old fashioned takes the classic old fashioned to new heights. The smoke adds a layer of complexity, perfectly complementing the rich vanilla and toffee notes of Jefferson’s Bourbon.
Crafting the Perfect Smoked Old Fashioned
Please only share with people over the legal drinking age.
Smoking a classic old fashioned infuses the bourbon with subtle notes of wood, char, and a hint of earthiness. Jefferson’s Bourbon, with its complexity and delicate, warm finish, is the ideal canvas for this smoky cocktail. Jefferson’s vanilla, peach, brown sugar, and toffee notes blend perfectly with the smoky overtones.
Using a cocktail smoker or smoking gun with fragrant wood chips – such as hickory, applewood, or cherry wood – allows you to control the intensity and flavor profile of the smoke. The trick is to smoke the drink just enough to give it a bit of aroma and taste without overwhelming the bourbon’s complex flavors.
